COVID-19 Business Recovery Grant Programs

​​​​​​Sacramento County is dedicated to supporting COVID-19 recovery for residents, businesses and communities. The Office of Economic Development is managing several economic recovery grant programs using State and Federal relief funding. 


MICROBUSINESS GRANT PROGRAM

  • Program Amount: $1,672,500
  • Application Period-Round 5: January 10, 2023-March 30, 2023​
  • Application Period-Round 4: CLOSED December 20, 2022 ​
  • Geographic Area: Sacramento County (Countywide)​
  • Funded by: State of California, Office of the Small Business Advocate
  • Administered by: Sacramento County, Office of Economic Development

The Microbusiness Grant Program will support 669 small business and nonprofit organizations with $2,500 grants. Funds may be used to reimburse small business and nonprofit organizations for negative economic impacts they have experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the related health and safety restrictions. Eligible applicants must have received less than $50K in annual gross revenue in 2019 and have fewer than 5 full-time equivalent employees. Review the full program guidelines and information regarding how to apply.  


SMALL BUSINESS & NONPROFIT GRANT PROGRAM

  • Program Amount: $7,500,000​
  • Application Period-Round 3: February 20, 2023-March 30, 3023
  • Application Period-Round 2: CLOSED December 15, 2022 (Award notifications sent electronically on January 31, 2023)
  • Geographic Area: Sacramento County (Unincorporated Area)
  • Funded by: Sacramento County, ARPA allocation
  • Administered by: Sacramento County, Office of Economic Development

The Small Business & Nonprofit Grant Program will support 750 small business and nonprofit organizations with $10,000 grants. Funds may be used to reimburse small business and nonprofit organizations for negative economic impacts they have experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the related health and safety restrictions. Eligible applicants must receive $2.5M or less in annual gross revenue and have 25 or less full-time equivalent employees. Review the full program guidelines and information regarding how to apply.   


ARTS & CULTURAL NONPROFIT RECOVERY GRANT PROGRAM

  • Program Amount: $4,000,000
  • Application Period: CLOSED February 7, 2023
  • Geographic Area: Sacramento County (Countywide)
  • Funded by: Sacramento County and City of Sacramento, ARPA allocations
  • Administered by: City of Sacramento, Office of Arts and Culture

The Arts & Cultural Nonprofit Recovery Grant Program will support COVID-19 impacted 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations that are involved in producing, promoting, or participating in live performances, events, or exhibits intended for public viewing and organizations that preserve and exhibit objects and sites of historical, cultural, or educational interest. Grant award sizes will vary and may be used to support operating expenses such as salaries and benefits for employees, fees for artists and contractors, mortgage/rent, utilities, and marketing. Review the full program guidelines and information regarding how to apply. ​
