Sustainable Business Program

Sustainability is based on a simple principle: Everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. To pursue sustainability is to create and maintain the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony to support present and future generations (source: www.epa.gov).

The Sustainable Business (SB) certification is sponsored through BERC and partners and is free to the business to apply and certify. There are six sustainable categories the business can certify in. The business can certify in multiple categories. The SB criteria differs for each Sustainable Business category. The goal is to demonstrate how small sustainable changes can make a big environmental impact. Making the SB program attainable for many different businesses.
