If it were a city, it would be the largest in the greater Sacramento region and one of the largest in the state. More than 2.6 million people live in the six-county Sacramento region.

Sacramento County, is conveniently located in the heart of California. Downtown Sacramento is approximately 90 miles east of San Francisco, 60 miles east of Napa Valley and 100 miles west of South Lake Tahoe. With 265 days of sunshine a year, Sacramento's Mediterranean climate features mild winters and warm summers.
